We’re excited to have four Haygain ambassadors preparing for the Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event. Starting Thursday April 25 in Lexington, Kentucky, the “LRK3DE” is one of the most rigorous and prestigious competitions in the world.
Caroline Martin and Islandwood Captain Jack drew the #2 ride spot and Lauren Kieffer, a past Kentucky champ, was happy to draw the last spot among 55 of the world’s top pairs with her World Equestrian Games partner Vermiculus. Liz Halliday-Sharp and Deniro Z and Will Coleman and Tight Lines ride in between.
The LRK3DE is the only CCI5* eventing competition in the Western Hemisphere and one of only six 5* events in the world.
Our four Haygainers initially came to hay steaming for different reasons: allergies, ulcers, low appetite, etc. Even after those issues cleared up, they’ve all added it to daily routines because assuring irritant-free hay is a huge benefit to respiratory health.
“I like the idea that it’s dust and bug free and they all seem to love it,” says Liz Halliday-Sharp. Galloping for 11 to 12 minutes, at speed, over 40 to 45 permanent cross-country obstacles, maximum respiratory health is a make-it-or-break-it matter in this sport.

Our bold eventers aren’t the only Haygainers at Kentucky next weekend. Show jumping ambassador and Olympian Lauren Hough is competing in the concurrent Kentucky CSI3* International Grand Prix on Saturday night and Haygain’s steamers and ComfortStall flooring are featured in the vendor booth of our friends at SmartPak.
Please come say hi! If you’re not going, watch the action on USEF Network or FEI-TV!
